AIPS - Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme
It may also be possible for you to buy your instrument on the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS) through your local Education Authority, your childs school will be able to give you full details of this. The AIPS is not a pay-up scheme but it does give you the chance to buy the instrument VAT-free. However not all regional authorities offer this scheme, and you must confirm this with the school.
